“I have been been traveling from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles for 24 years to have first Dr. Rodger Kame and now Dr. Gregory Kame provide for the health of my eyes and the fitting of my contact lens. My husband comes with me also for his vision care needs.

In 1985 I was having no luck finding a doctor in Santa Barbara who could fit me with good vision contact lens. In desperation I had my husband use his contacts in the vision care industry to find the right doctor for me. He contacted the National Sales Manager for a major contact lens manufacturer who told him that there was a doctor in Los Angeles ... Dr. Rodger Kame ... who was, in his opinion, "the best contact lens specialist west of the Mississippi". Upon this glowing recommendation I scheduled my first visit with Dr. Rodger Kame and I was not disappointed. Dr. Kame soon figured out how to fit my severe "against-the-rule" astigmatism and gave me the best contact lens that I had ever had. He pointed no blame to my previous doctors or claimed any special glory ... only said that my eyes were very difficult to fit with contacts and it was understandable that some doctors would have trouble. When my eyes aged to the point that I needed bi-focals, he was able to successfully add bi-focal correction into my already complex astigmatism lens.

Shortly before his untimely death in July, 2000, Dr. Rodger Kame introduced me to his son, Dr. Gregory Kame and discussed with him the specifics of my contact lens fitting. His son has now stepped seamlessly into his father’s shoes and has continued the Kame legacy of caring, competent, professionalism. I travel now to see Dr. Gregory Kame and profit for his care for my contact lens and also as I face high eye pressure. He recently researched and located a glaucoma specialist in the Santa Barbara area as a resource to me for the high eye pressure problem. I credit both Doctors Kame with the continuing health of my eyes and my ability to enjoy excellent vision with comfortable fitting contact lens for the past 24 years."
